WOLF MOON

I saw you, oh majestic Wolf Moon,
Full as a saucer of white light,
Shining thru the windows this night,
I hear your companions in the forest,
Wolf Clan gathering in song,
In solitude one stands outside my door,
I hear it's call,
I know not what it wants,
For I am absence of food,
And only a remembrance of fire in this cabin,
Oh Wolf Moon, you light shines bright,
I hear the Wolf Clan's call.~~~

Road Travels Leads to Wealth

©

As roads we travel, some short, others long,
like notes in our life's song,
high and low, taking us to distant places,
experiences accumulate our  rewards,
sometime encounters are those of harms,
the journey we started, sometimes wondering,
why has this began, never to return to that start,
for it is never the same, our experiences,
our tastes, the palate of exotic places,
both in mind and in form,
our roads  traveled are of many forms,
we have gained as we journey on,
thru an open door,  our adventures,
becomes life's  greatest wealth,
just by venturing thru the open door.

POETS OF HOWL
amid oaks standing with majestic arms, hounds dance as if ballerinas in tutus, their voices with reach of opera singers, echoing thru the trees, as squirrels set in oaks engaged in romance, these hound poets of howl they do, as squirrels throw acorns, only to encourage them to further their song...

Snowflakes Are Falling with Cheer

Winter snowflakes are falling,
Reindeer hear the calling,
Elves are busy as can be,
Making toys for you and me...

Rudolph with a nose so red,

Knows how to guide the sled,
As Santa loads his pack,

With gifts to bring us cheer.

Winter snowflakes are falling,

Reindeer hear the calling,
Elves are busy as can be,
Making toys for you and me...

I hear the sound of sleigh bells,

In the forest so near,
Loaded with gifts to bring us cheer,
And a better new year...

Winter snowflakes are falling,

Reindeer hear the calling,
Elves are busy as can be,
Making toys for you and me...

Choirs are singing in the street,

We hear the songs so clearly,
Singing of peace and joy,
Blessings we shall keep...

Winter snowflakes are falling,

Reindeer hear the calling
Elves are busy as can be,
Making toys for you and me..

We wish you a very Merry Christmas,

With dreams of holiday joy,
We wish you a Happy New Year,
To bring you great cheer...

Things to Cherish

I walk the path, the light I carry,
was entrusted to me,
by the ancients, my elders.
Forest of ancient abodes,
surrounded where meadows unfolded,
game for them to partake,
and soil to nurture, as elders suggested.

Streams of water pure must flow,
these seas that rivers reach,
will always remain as gifted.
Paths to walk with flora and fauna,
along river edges, these pathways,
still our ancients walk in silence,
watching our steps, this very night.

I walk the path, the light I carry,
was entrusted to me,
by the ancients, my elders.

Roam and Deseret

Here upon these plains,
the heavens stillness,
releases a falling star,
its falling to earth,
reminded me of you.
These nights stars,
are like the tinkle in your eyes,
shining like an oasis,
a respite for a thirsty soul,
Here in this solitude of this night,
I am at rest in their splendor,
if only, I could be with you,
this would ease my mind.

As day breaks anew,
with the morning sun,
that sparkles on the dew,
whose presence nourishes,
the range grass, that feeds,
these cattle that I am guarding,
I am not a outlaw on the run,
but this is job of a true buckaroo,
and these cattle have to be moved,
up to Wichita before this drive is through,
and I can return to you.

When I get back to Tulsa town,
there in beautiful Oklahoma,
we will ride down to Fort Worth,
where the parson is awaiting,
at the chapel door,
our lives will join together,
ole roam and deseret,
we will live together forever more.

Misty of the East Texas Pines

As the mighty eagle flies overhead,
the mighty protector,
searching, watching for us,
as we travel these roads,
in search of truth, and justice,
in our hands, we hold,
a mightly light, that radiates,
as we travel through the pines.

High above the lake,
the mightly eagle,
flies along with the raven,
and will lite upon that window sill,
and peck at the intruders door,
becking for truth to be told.

There along the bank,
the bear, the earthly lynx,
with their companion,
the black panther,
whose voice we know,
in the darken forest,
their eyes are as keen as light,
and their spirits are as bold.

There among the East Texas Pines,
the eagle, raven, flies mighty high,
as the lynx, bear and panther,
searching and looking,
truth will be told,
Mistys spirit stands strong.

The eagle, our mighty protector,
flies side by side with the raven,
while the lynx, panther and the bear,
travel through these mighty pines,
we cherish their search for justice,
justice is ours to behold,
we stand together hand in hand,
for Mistys spirit stands bold.

Life Under Piney Free Big Top

From a high branch of the live oak,
the squirrel chatters and turns,
its derriere to the blueheeler,
who in frustration, chases the cat,
the cat chases the rooster,
and the ducks, donald and daisy,
get into the fray, after the po' rooster.

He in desperation, being a manic,
chases the hens who,
having been romanced by the rooster,
stagger, sway and stumble,
into the "hen house to lay",
becoming engaged in their hen house cackleing,
comparing mental notes about,
"this rooster and that".

OH, this one "he has that certain peck",
and how I just totally collapse,
and fall to my knees,
when he gets near me,
when he struts about the barnyard,
adoring, awaiting that peck.

And, amid this barnyard ramble,
I arise and steal their laid product,
taking to the feed store,
returning with feed,
the piney big top circus begins again.

Viewing from a chair,
whose frame is about to decompose,
there 'neath a 40 year old oak,
being both relaxed and de-stressed,
far better than a 5th of Whiskey.

I can then upright and walk,
there into the house,
provided that I do not,
step on the tail of a feline,
sphinx, mostly, coon and danser,
who await at my feet.

If, by chance I do,
I then will become serenaded,
by the feline choir,
of the Full Gospel Sanctified Feline Church,
while the rooster crows,
with his rigorous amens,
it's with a most great appreciation,
of the piney big top circus,
that I just seen.

Island In The Sabine

Waters flow all about,
both sides, carrying its passage,
down to the Gulf,
Trees of ancients stand most bold,
upon both shores,
as I, a solitude Island,
stand in this midst,
an ancient grove of mixed trees,
as those that navigate both sides,
have often stop for the night, to sleep,
to fish upon my banks,
to gather thoughts as they rest.

As days breaks upon the eastern shore,
Niblett's Landing,
the rested set to travel,
further up this stream,
that flows so mighty,
whose mighty current,
carrying those pines, cypresses,
fallen to build,
cities upon those grass prairies,
and I, this island,
am the only keeper of the secrets,
shared around the circle of light of night,
of those that slept beneath, the trees.

OH Lafitte, OH Lafitte,
I will forever keep your secret,
as where you place your gold,
far, far away from those that sought,
those you helped their liberty,
now, they sent out searchers for you,
your usage immediately expired.

OH Lafitte, OH Lafitte,
I welcomed you upon my muddy banks,
for rest, rest for those that dared,
and as you, casted as an undesirable,
constantly in chase, for they wanted,
no more than your bounty, your head,
to claim that they were the just,
and your efforts were just a pirate.
